all it's customers who pass 'airside'. Sight of photographic ID e.g.
passport or driving licence is required on the day of your flight.
The carrying of 'Dangerous Goods' is strictly prohibited on the aircraft. You
must not carry:
Firearms (including replicas or toys).
Explosives (fireworks, flares, toy gun caps).
Gases (compressive gas cylinders, tear gas, mace or CS devices).
Gas powered devices.
Flammable materials (petrol, lighter fuel, paint, thinner, matches, fire lighters).
Poisons (weed killers, insecticides).
Corrosives (batteries, mercury).
Sharp items, such as knives.
For your comfort on the aircraft leave bulky items such as bags and coats
behind.
Flight dates are booked by telephoning +44 (0) 191 2866 999 and quoting your
voucher number and your name. The gift voucher holder is responsible for
making contact with Northumbria Helicopters Limited to book an available
date for their flight.
Vouchers may be extended for a period of two months at an additional cost of
£20 payable prior to the voucher expiry date.
The cost of trial lesson and gift vouchers is non-refundable. They are
transferable providing we are notified at least 7 days before the flight.
Participants failing to turn up for their confirmed flight render the
voucher invalid, and cancellations on the day will incur a £20.00
charge.
Northumbria Helicopters reserves the right to cancel flights at short notice
due to poor weather or other conditions that may affect flight safety. In
the event your flight is cancelled by us the voucher will remain valid, but
the flight must be rebooked for a mutually convenient date.
Vouchers
that are booked for the first time in the last month of validity of the
voucher will only be rebooked to the voucher expiry date unless
extended.
Personal security and privacy issues are taken seriously and we have
partnered with Sage Pay to ensure that all credit / debit
card details submitted via our website are securely encrypted before
transmission over the internet.
Due to air traffic volume and / or operational reasons flight times are
approximate.
All flights depart and return to the same landing site where the lesson or
tour begins.
Routes may vary due to weather or air traffic control.
A fuel surcharge may be applicable at the point of booking the flight date
if the price of aviation fuel is affected by any changes in EU Tax
regulations or any other increase exceeding 10% within the UK during the
voucher validity.
Whilst every precaution is taken for the safety of passengers, neither
Northumbria Helicopters Limited nor its pilot can be held liable for loss,
damage or injury which does not result from their negligence.
Northumbria Helicopters Limited shall not be liable for any expenses
incurred from flight cancellations due to operational circumstances.
Cameras and other photographic equipment may be taken on the flight, but at
entirely the participants own risk.
All participants should be able to get in and
out of a family car unassisted. The flight may not be suitable for persons
who are pregnant, suffer from epilepsy, recent head injuries, recurrent
fainting, giddiness, blackouts, high blood pressure, heart conditions or
back problems. If in any doubt participants should seek the medical advice
of their GP prior to booking.
The pilot at his/her discretion may refuse any person on board the aircraft
if he/she suspects them to have consumed alcohol or drugs within the
previous 24 hours.
Trial Lessons Conditions
Trial lesson vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
Expired vouchers that have not been extended can not be honored.
Full payment should be made prior to the flight. In the event you wish to
upgrade your voucher this can be paid for on the day of your flight.
Trial lesson participants much be aged twelve or more.
Trial lesson participants need to be a minimum of 5' tall (for any of the
aircraft).
For flights in the Robinson R44 Raven I there is a 280lbs (20 stone or
125kg) weight limit. Observer(s) will be allowed depending on size and
weight and at the discretion of the instructor. Observers should be family
or friends of the voucher recipient who wish to share the experience.

If you are training to become a pilot PPL(H), you will require a Class Two
aviation medical, showing that you are in reasonably good health (required
before going solo). We can provide details of CAA approved doctors in your
local area who can issue medicals. For commercial pilot CPL(H) training
you will require a Class One aviation medical.
All lessons should be paid for before or on the day, unless special
arrangements have been made with the manager.
For lessons in the Robinson 22 there is a 224 lbs (16 Stone or 102 kg)
weight limit.
For lessons in the Robinson 44 there is a 280 lbs (20 Stone or 125 kg)
weight limit.
Terms & Conditions - Self Fly Hire
A 'Self Fly Hire Agreement' form is to be completed and signed by the
hirer and any passengers.
The scope of the self fly hire itinerary has to be agreed by NHL.
If you have not flown within the last 28 days you will have to agree to a
check flight with our instructor. The instructor must satisfy himself that
you are competent and safe.
A deposit to the value of 25% of the anticipated value of the hire is to
be paid prior to departure.
Helicopter availability will be dependent on the work load at the time.
Advance booking is advisable.
NHL reserves the right to refuse, alter or cancel the agreement at short
notice.
